Members of our Wellington Toastmasters have advanced to many top positions including an ambassador, a minister of the crown, directors of government departments and one member became the Auditor-General. Other Wellington Toastmasters have held top Producer Board positions and many of our members have managed and owned their own companies. Others have become senior university lecturers and one became the Dean of Mass Communications at an American university in Massachusetts.

Today, Toastmasters International is a non-profit organisation which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking abilities through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests. Toastmasters International includes more than 199,000 men and women in more than 9,300 clubs in more than 70 countries.

You’ll meet a broad range of people from all walks of life. From students just starting out in their careers through to seasoned trainers who like to assist others and put back into Toastmasters some of what they were able to take out when they first started.
As a guest you can come to Wellington Toastmasters at no cost whatsoever, Yes it’s free! You can even give it a go yourself if you like, or just sit back and watch the proceedings. Whichever approach you’d like to take, you’d be welcome.
At Wellington Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. We meet once a fortnight for 2 hours. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practise conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.

Wellington Toastmasters meets every 2nd, 4th and 5th (where applicable) Monday of the month.
The meeting commences at 5:30 pm with a break in the middle for tea and biscuits. The meeting concludes around 7:30pm .
